
IceDiggers Sign first Commitment of 06-07 Season

As the Alpena IceDiggers look to improve and grow in the 2006-07 Season, they are happy to announce their first commitment for the upcoming season. Chad Billins from Marysville, MI will be donning an IceDiggers jersey next year, as Head Coach and GM Kenny Miller makes the first tender signing of his NAHL Head Coaching career, as well as for the upcoming season.
"Chad is a very skilled defenseman who will definitely step in and become an impact player right away. He's the type of player that we are looking to add to our team for 06-07 season. We are very happy that Chad has decided on Alpena," Miller stated.
Chad had this to say about joining the IceDiggers next season "I am excited for the chance, and thankful for the opportunity to play at a higher level."
Chad, the son of Jason and Teri Billins, joins the Alpena squad from the Little Caesars AAA team in Detroit. Billins is a defensemen and will turn 17 years old in May of 2006.
In 30 games Chad has 8 goals and 20 assists for 28 points since joining Little Caesars in early November.
