Ice to Play Memphis in Conference Finals

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-The Indianapolis Ice will meet the defending CHL Champion Memphis RiverKings in the best-of-seven Northern Conference Finals starting this Friday (4/4) and Tuesday (4/8) from the DeSoto Civic Center in Southhaven, MS. The Ice has home ice advantage in the series, but the series will be taking a 2-3-1-1 format due to a scheduling conflict at the Pepsi Coliseum this weekend.
The Ice reached the conference finals after eliminating the Amarillo Gorillas three games to one, while the RiverKings took their first round series from the Oklahoma City Blazers three games to two after winning game five last night in Oklahoma City.
Indy was 5-6-1 in the regular season against Memphis, but seven of the 12 games were played on the road including seven of the last nine meetings. Jason Baird led the Ice in scoring against the RiverKings with 15 points (6G, 9A), while Kevin St. Jacques and Randy Holmes chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively. Jamie Morris was the better of the two netminders as he posted a 3-0-1 record with a 2.26 goals-against-average and .929 save percentage in five games against Memphis.
