Kootenay Ice News Release

Cranbrook, BC - Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club announced today the Club has selected 17-year-old Russian Right Wing Klim Kostin (1st round, 1st overall) and 17-year-old Russian Defenseman Nikita Radzivilyuk (2nd round, 61st overall) in the 25th annual CHL Import Draft.

"Our goal leading into this year's Import Draft was to add a pair of players who can complement our young core as we continue building for the future. Klim Kostin is a world-class player who captained his national team to a silver medal at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and also led his country at the Under-18 World Championships in April. His size and skating ability have already caught the attention of scouts in anticipation of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft," continued Chynoweth.

"Nikita Radzivilyuk will add size to our back end, and has the potential to develop into an offensive presence as he matures. With only one other 1999-born defenseman in our group, he will have every opportunity to grow within our organization over the next two to three years," added Chynoweth.
