INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The USHL announced on Tuesday that Indiana Ice defenseman Eric Olimb has been named "CCM Defensive Player of the Week" after registering two goals in two key victories against the Chicago Steel last weekend.
Olimb started the weekend strong with a second period tally in a 6-3 victory over Chicago on Friday night before registering the game-winner on Saturday night in a 9-1 win over the Steel. He finished the weekend with a +3 plus/minus rating. Olimb's offensive outburst gives the second year USHL d-man 11 points (5G, 6A) in 28 appearances with the Ice this season.
Indiana travels to Tri-City this weekend to battle the Storm in a two-game series from Kearney, Nebraska. Game one is scheduled for Friday at 8:00 p.m. followed by game two on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
