July 18, 2006 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF)
Mid Michigan Ice News Release

The Michigan Ice, fresh off a two-game sweep (and first winning streak in franchise history) of the Toyota Shokki in Jackson, MI, will try to take two more when the teams tangle Wednesday in a double header in Columbus, IN. The first game of the double-header will begin at 2:30 with the second game immediately following the first.

Rookie pitcher Janet Nagle is scheduled to start game one. Nagle was victorious and went the distance in Fridays 5-1, 9 inning contest. Game two starter is not known at time of release.

The Ice will be missing a few key players who did not make the trip but will welcome the return of center fielder Auriel Jenkins (.245, HR) to the lineup. Jenkins missed the past weekend series due to family obligations.

Gone for the Ice include leading hitter Charity Butler (.302), has missionary work she will begin this week that will keep her out of the lineup until the Chicago series.

When the Ice return from Indiana, they will have a week off to prepare for a return four-game bout with NPF leading Chicago Bandits (20-3). The Bandits took the four game series last month in Midland and the Ice will be out for revenge down in Chicago.
