Keystone Ice Miners News Release

CONNELLSVILLE, PA - After a few Ice Miners stole the show on Friday night, it was a spread out offensive attack in the second game of the weekend exhibition series on Saturday that led Keystone to another big victory over the USPHL Richmond Generals. Nine different Ice Miners found the back of the net in a 9-1 triumph.

As they did in each of the three periods in Friday's game, the Ice Miners scored early in the first on Saturday. Lordanthony Grissom set up Brendan Jacquay at 1:18 for the opening tally of the game. Noah Batis and Niko Coffman then added back to back powerplay goals for a 3-0 score at the first intermission.

In the second period, Jon Hall, Ben Mello, Taylor Fernandez, and Austin Romzek scored for Keystone. Fernandez' goal came shorthanded and unassisted. Brian Hodges, who finished the night with three points, assisted on the fourth and seventh goals. Hodges would then find the back of the net himself on a nifty passing play with Romzek early in the third period. At 8-0, Richmond finally got on a the board when Jack Zielinski netted a powerplay goal at 6:11 of the third. Jonathan Stickel, who finished the weekend with four goals and two assists capped off the scoring at 18:33 when Scott Donahue set him up.

Veteran goaltender Alexander Blankenburg played the entire game for the Ice Miners, stopping 15 of 16 shots.
