San Angelo Saints News Release

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Saints today announced a first for the Concho Valley – ice skating in June and July!! The San Angelo Coliseum will become an ice rink for 28 days right in the middle of the West Texas summer to offer public skating, youth and adult hockey clinics and adult pick-up games. From June 16th to July 13th the ice floor will be in place at the coliseum and open for public use.

"We are incredibly excited to be able to bring the fun of ice skating to San Angelo during the summer," said Saints President Jim Cook. "We'd like to invite everyone who likes to skate or wants to try it for the first time to come out and enjoy some time with us."

A schedule will be released soon detailing dates and times for public skating and a 2-week youth hockey clinic with Saints Head Coach Ray Edwards and Saints players. The Saints would like to extend an invitation to everyone with an interest in ice skating to mark June 16th – July 13th on their calendars and join us for a cool time out of the summer heat at the San Angelo Coliseum.

"Having the ice rink available during the summer is perfect for families to enjoy public skating, school summer programs and field trips for daycare centers, churches and places like the YMCA," added Cook. "We will also be attracting skaters from other cities that have already approached us about having skating clinics here at our coliseum."

The ice surface will also be back in the coliseum in August for the Disney on Ice show being brought in by the City of San Angelo.
