Indiana Ice News Release
A two-goal night by Brian Morgan used to be a good sign for the Indiana Ice, but spelled disaster as they fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks 3-0 Saturday night from L.C. Walker Arena.
Several Icemen made their team debut in the game, including Carmel, IN-native Grant Hutton, Patrick Newell and Bryan Yim. Anderson Snair made his seventh appearance in net, logging 25 saves on 28 shots.
Indy continually tested Muskegon goaltender Jordan Uhelski in the first and second periods, compiling a 26-16 shot advantage in the first 40 minutes of play. The also held several power play opprotunities in the contest, but were unable to capitalize with the extra man.
The Lumberjacks' opened the scoring midway through the first period when Chad McDonald broke onto the scoreboard with a sharp-angle shot to beat Snair for the 1-0 lead.
Morgan went to work against his former team in the second and third periods, scoring on his only two shots of the night. He was recently sent to Muskegon earlier this week.
Indy begins a nine-game home stretch on Sunday as they host the Youngstown Phantoms on "Family Sunday," presented by Simon Malls. The puck drop is set for 3:05 pm from Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
