Bozeman Icedogs News Release
The ICEDOGS picked up two more wins over the weekend and continue to distance themselves from the rest of the NAHL-West Division with 75 points. Fairbanks is in second place with 58 points.
It is no surprise the ICEDOGS continue to roll. Josh Heidinger is leading the entire league in scoring with 74 points and goaltender Matt Dalton leads the league with a low 1.86 goals against average. The team-first concept is a main reason why these ICEDOGS will be heading into the playoffs for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
Friday's game is sponsored by ABC TV, and it is also a Pepsi Night where $25 will buy four bench tickets in any combination (adult, student, or child), four Pepsis, and bucket of popcorn. Join the team for their post-game skate!
Next weekend, the ICEDOGS welcome the Minnesota Blizzard on Friday and Billings Bulls on Saturday. With only six regular season home games remaining after this weekend, now is the PERFECT time to pick up a Flex 6 Pack to enjoy every remaining game this season and save money at the same time! Visit our ticket office or call 585-1415 to order yours by phone today!
Some of you may have caught all or part of a commercial regarding a Cash Grab at an upcoming game. Read below to find out the details!
The Bozeman Blackhawks' are in the playoffs and will open their series against the Spokane Flyers on Friday. They will return to Bozeman for game two on Sunday at 7:35 pm and game three (if necessary) will be next Monday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
Spotlight On #24 Brett Nylander
Q: Tell us a little about your playing background. A: I started playing when I was four years old, and moved from Minneapolis to Lake of the Woods. Everyone up there played so I started to play. We lived on a lake so we shoveled the snow and made a little rink to start. When I was a squirt, I made the A team and played through high school. My high school team, the Lake of the Woods Bears, made it to the section semi-finals my sophomore and junior years but we lost both years. After my junior season, I played in the Minnesota high school elite league and then my senior season with the Bears, we were ranked fourth in state. We lost in the section finals that season to Warroad, 4-3 in overtime. I played in the Great 8 High School tourney and the Chicago Showcase, which is where I met Coach LaFontaine, and got interested in playing here in Bozeman.
Q: What is your favorite playing career memory so far? A: My senior season in high school in the section semi-finals, we played East Grand Forks at their rink. It was a packed house and we won 7-1. It was an awesome experience and a great game.
Q: How do you prepare for a game? A: I usually wake up around 8 am and get some eggs, toast with peanut butter, some yogurt, and juice for breakfast, then head for pre-game. After the skate I go home, eat a big breakfast/lunch and then bum around the house and relax until three. My pre-game meal is usually elk and some salad, soup and lots of liquids. Then I head to my room and relax until four, shower, change, say my prayers and head to the rink.
Q: What are your plans after you are done playing juniors? A: I got accepted to Air Force last year and am looking forward to playing for the Falcons.
Q: What do you like best about Bozeman? A: I live with the D'Agostino's and they make it easy to adjust. The opportunities to snowboard, fish, hunt and the facility and the team are unmatched. Our booster club is great, the coaches are awesome and the organization is the best. Everyone is so supportive. It's been a fun two years.
