SPLITTING THE DIFFERENCE: The Indiana Ice wrapped up the regular-season series with Team USA and the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday and Sunday, splitting weekend contests with the Eastern Conference rivals. Mitch Hults found twine with 60 seconds remaining in regulation to lead the Ice past Team USA 3-2 on Saturday from Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Mikhail Plotnikov finished the night with a goal and an assist while Lukas Laub added another tally for Indy. Anderson Snair saw 20 shots on net, recording 18 saves. The Ice held on to a 2-1 lead against the Youngstown Phantoms before surrendering four unanswered goals in Sunday's 5-2 decision at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Forwards Tyler Pham and Patrick Newell both recorded goals in the contest.

BAVARIAN BREAKAWAY: Lukas Laub continues productive late-season run as the Rosenheim, Germany native has four points (3G, A) in his last five games. Laub tallied his first multiple-goal game of the season in late March with a pair of lamplighters in a 6-3 win over the Chicago Steel. Through 23 games this season, he has totaled eight points (4G, 4A), including his three-point USHL debut in a 6-3 win against Team USA in mid January.

PLAYER BUTTONS: Laythe Jadallah recorded his first USHL point with an assist in Sunday's 5-2 loss to Youngstown...Patrick Newell has seven points (G, 6A) in his last six games...Josh Jacobs has two points in his last three games...Zach Aman, Dalton Izyk and Rinat Valiev join Alex Smith as players out with injuries and done for the season.

TEAM BANKS: Indy is fifth the league in the penalty kill on home ice (85.0%) and is eighth overall (82.9%)...The Ice is the least penalized team in the league per game (12.87)...Indy is 2-0-0 against Waterloo this season...The Ice is 15-7-1 when scoring first.

FROZEN FOUR ACTION: Five Ice alums will have the opportunity to play for the NCAA Championship as the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA hosts the 2013 Frozen Four Championship on Thursday, April 11 and Saturday, April 13. Ryan Obuchowski and the Yale Bulldogs will battle UMass-Lowell at 4:30 pm on Thursday while Alex and Loren Barron (Quinnipiac) will face off against Nic Dowd and Jarrod Rabey (St. Cloud State) in the semifinals at 8:00 pm to decide Saturday's 7:00 pm championship match.

PRO RANKS: Former Ice forward Daniil Tarasov (10-12) followed signing an NHL contract with the San Jose Sharks by registering three goals for Worcester (AHL) last week...Defenseman Torey Krug (08-09) registered three points (G, 2A) for the Providence Bruins...Kyle Bonis (07-08) and Nick Bailen (05-08, 09-10) also recorded firsts in their professional career as Bonis (Norfolk-AHL) scored his first AHL goal while Bailen (Rochester-AHL) recorded his first point with an assist.
