ICE Clash with Wheat Kings on Tuesday Night

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (12-41-7-3) host the Brandon Wheat Kings (29-24-4-4) for the second and final time this season on Tuesday, March 5.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

In addition, Tuesday's game is the final Rain Check Night of the 2018-19 season. The only valid tickets are for ICE home games between February 8 and March 5.

The ICE are coming off of a 6-2 loss to the Calgary Hitmen on March 3. The ICE received goals from Connor McClennon and Martin Bodak. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 31-of-37 shots. The Hitmen got three goals from Carson Focht, two goals from Josh Prokop and a single from Ryder Korczak. Goaltender Carl Stankowski blocked 36-of-38 shots in the victory. The ICE outshot the Hitmen 38-36. They went 1-for-8 on the power play, 2-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 34-of-76 face-offs.

The ICE have amassed 32 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The ICE have a home record of 8-20-3-0.

The Brandon Wheat Kings visit the Kootenay ICE for the second and final time this season on Tuesday, March 5. Currently, the Wheat Kings are on a seven-game road stretch away from Westoba Place. Tonight is game four on the road stretch. The Wheaties play nine games in the month of February, tonight is game three. Heading into tonight's game, the Wheaties are fourth in the East Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference.

The Wheaties are coming off of a 7-1 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on March 2. Caiden Daley scored the lone goal for the Wheaties, assisted by Braydyn Chizen and Chad Nychuk. Both Wheaties goaltenders saw action in the game. The Wheaties were outshot 45-29. They went 0-for-4 on the power play, 4-for-5 on the penalty kill and won 30-of-59 face-offs.

The Wheat Kings have collected 66 points this season, which is good for fourth in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference.
