Demonz Rout Dashers 6-0 in Danville
The Demonz remain red hot and soundly defeated the Danville Dashers at home. It was originally supposed to be a Danville vs Watertown game with Dayton having the day off however bus troubles would delay Watertown by a day and give Dayton the opportunity to earn 3 points.
Dayton took off out of the starting gates with goals from Jesse Felten, Rob Vanwynsberghe and Ahmed Mahfouz to make it a 3-0 lead. Then after the 3rd goal Brandon Blair and Chris Affinati took part in a much anticipated fight that went the distance and really got the fans into the game. However it would be all Dayton after the fight, with additional goals being scored by Brian Marks, Ahmed Mahfouz, and Rob Vanwynsberghe.
For Dayton, Ahmed Mahfouz was involved in all 6 goals, scoring 2 and assisting on the other 4. Rob Vanwynsberghe scored 2 goals and 2 assists, Brian Marks and Jesse Felten added a goal and assist each, and Jeff Rose stopped all 33 Danville shots for the win. For Danville, Chris Affinati had 5 PIM on the fight with Blair, and Josselin St. Pierre stopped 41 of 47 shots for the loss.
Danville plays at home tomorrow against Watertown, and Dayton will play tomorrow and Sunday night in Danbury. A crowd of about 700 showed up at the David S. Palmer Arena for tonight's game.
