Outlaws Ground Aviators, 5-3
The New Jersey Outlaws continued their winning ways tonight, getting their 6th win in a row for the first time in franchise history by a score of 5-3. The Outlaws record improves to 10-2-0 while Brooklyn falls to 6-5-3 on the season. The Outlaws continue to stay ahead of the Privateers for first place, despite their victory tonight, with 30 points on the season. The Aviators got off to a quick start with the first goal of the game at the 6:23 mark of the first period, however, Travis Kauffeldt came right back, a mere 13 seconds later, to tie it up for the Outlaws. The Outlaws continued the offense through the rest of the first, scoring 2 more goals by Brett Liscomb and Kevin Cooper to close out the scoring in the first period. The second period was more of the same as John Goffredo continues his hot streak with yet another goal, which was followed up by a Matt Puntureri goal just 5:11 later. In the third, Brooklyn got close with two late goals by Casey Mignone and Andrew Owsiak. The Aviators got no closer and the Outlaws hung on for the 5-3 victory.
Adam Dekker was strong between the pipes tonight making 31 saves, earning the third star of the game honor. Dan Mercer earned the second star with 2 assists. Tonight's first star was former Aviator, Matt Puntureri with a goal and 2 more assists.

Aviators Comeback Falls Short
WAYNE, New Jersey - A late comeback fell short on Friday night as the Brooklyn Aviators lost to the New Jersey Outlaws 5-3 in Federal Hockey League action.
Matt Atsoff and Andrew Owsiak each had one goal and one assist in the loss for the Aviators.
Brooklyn would get on the board 6:23 into the first period on Atsoff's second goal of the year. Atsoff would put home an Owsiak pass in front of Outlaws' netminder Adam Dekker to give the Aviators the 1-0 lead. New Jersey quickly found the equalizer 13-seconds later, as Travis Kauffeldt's 10th marker of the season tied the game at 1-1. The Outlaws continued the pile on the pressure and registered the next two goals, from Brett Liscomb and Kevin Cooper, to take a two-goal lead, 3-1, after the opening period.
Two former Aviators found the back of the net in the second period, which gave the Outlaws a 5-1 lead. John Goffredo scored 1:11 into the middle frame to collect his sixth tally of season to put New Jersey up 4-1. Matt Puntureri followed with his eighth marker of the year at the 6:27 spot giving the Outlaws a four-goal edge, at 5-1.
The Aviators tallied two goals late in the third period with markers from Casey Mignone and Owsiak, however it was not enough as the Outlaws held on for the 5-3 victory.
Jo St. Pierre suffered his first loss in a Brooklyn jersey stopping 33 shots, while Dekker picked up the win making 31 saves.
The Aviators return to New Jersey on Saturday night to take on the Outlaws. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 PM at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ, and can be heard live via the FHL Broadcast Network, powered by LiveSportsVideo.com.

Warriors Beat Danbury, Snap Losing Streak
Massena NY: Akwesasne Warriors in their second game of a 3 game home stretch this week will play the Danbury Whalers in back to back action Friday and Saturday nights. The Warriors are looking to break their 3 straight game losing streak. David Plouffe was back between the pipes this evening for the Warriors after Adam Thompson's loss to the Danville Thrasher in a shootout.
In the first period of play both teams battled hard for the first goal of the game, playing end-to-end hockey. Miguel Delisle fed the puck to Dan Tessier at 14:59 for his first goal of the season for the Warriors. With a minute and forty seconds left in the period Kelly Miller was robbed by David Plouffe on the rebound for a chance to tie the game. At the end of the first period the Warriors led 1-0.
The Warriors played a more physical game during the second period. Ahmed Mahfouz up ended Danbury's Stephane Mallaro into the Warriors bench. Pierre Dagenais score the second goal of the game giving the Warriors a two nothing lead at 1:09. With the Warriors on a power play Kelly Miller would get a short handed unassisted goal at 16:09 making it a one goal lead for the Warriors. At 17:39 Warriors Patrick Draspe would skate hard to the net taking a shot and would be denied a goal by Peter Vetri, but with Martin Beaulne and Addison Pelkey there for the rebound they would feed the puck back to Deraspe for the 3rd goal of the game finishing the second period with the Warriors having a 2 goal lead over Danbury.
With the Warriors changing their lines this evening, after a third period of play would show to be successful. They are finishing their checks and going to hard to the net with much success. At 11:30 of the third period Deschalets would take a pass from former NHLer Pierre Dagenais giving them an assurance goal making it 4-1 . Paul Shantz and Corey Fulton would drop the gloves at 6:52 left in the third trading punches back and fourth, giving the fans what they wanted a good tilly. Danbury fighting hard to come back in the game , Carlo Ricci would score 18:23 but the clock would soon count down with the game finishing as the Warriors won 4-2.

Privateers Hold Off Danville Dashers
The 1000 Islands Privateers (10-2) held off the visiting Danville Dashers for a 4-3 win at home. With New Jersey winning against Brooklyn, the Privateers needed to stay in front of Danville to maintain a tie for first place in the FHL.
1000 Islands Justin Levac was the lone scorer in the 1st, netting #1 at 9:05 (Paul Kelly, Michael Byrd) and #2 at 9:58 (Michael Richard, Kelly) for a 2-0 start to the game. Modest penalties filled the remainder of the period with Privateer Mason Cossette and Dasher Daniel Amesbury logging 5 minute fight majors amongst a host of other minors spread across both teams.
The 2nd period was all Privateers as well as Matt Kinnunen scored (Tyler Fernandez, Jeff Winchester) at 5:09, and Adam McAllister's shorthanded goal at 7:39 (Brad Smulders, Winchester) brought the tally to a manageable lead of 4-0 in front of a home crowd of 1185.
Not to go quietly, Danville responded in the 3rd as Justin Barr (Ryan Stern, Chris Affinati) got on the board at 4:26. Tyler Forbes brought the Dashers within 2 at 8:09 (Ray Tremblay, former Privateer Ky Moje). Danville's Amesbury found net on a powerplay goal at 15:09 (Moje, Kyle Heffernan) to bring the Dashers within one. That was all the steam Danville had as the Privateers killed the time to the buzzer and cemented the win.
1000 Islands finishes their Thanksgiving week with another home game against the visiting Cape Cod Bluefins, making their first visit of the season to Alex Bay. The pressure is definitely on the Privateers as New Jersey goes against Brooklyn again. The puck drops at 7:05pm at the Bonnie Castle Rec Center in Alex Bay.
