Outlaws Drop Second Straight at Home

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - - The Williamsport Outlaws came into Saturday afternoon's game looking to rebound from Friday night's 7-2 loss to the Danville Dasher, but ended up dropping their second straight at Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field.

Williamsport had their opportunities in the first period out shooting the Dashers 17-15 and also having two chances on the power play. The Outlaws couldn't figure out Justin Sands in the period. Dustin Skinner, who posted a hat trick in last night's win over the Outlaws, was responsible for the two Dashers goals in the first, with both coming shorthanded.

Skinner would beat Chris Whitley a third time shorthanded for his sixth goal in his last six periods in the second period to make it 3-0 Dashers after two periods of play.

Danville struck two more times in the third period to jump out to a 5-0 lead with goals from Justin Levac and Ryan Stern.

Williamsport would not be shutout however as they would muster two late goals in the third period. Bryan Mock scored from Ryan Dolance and Nick Zaino scored the first and William McCreary scored from Trevor Karasiewicz and Paul Arnott Jr for the second goal.

Chris Whitley took the loss allowing 5 goals while making 43 saves. Justin Sand earned the win allowing 2 goals while making 41 saves.

Dayton Downs Danbury in Overtime, 4-3

The Dayton Demonz's Jesse Felten scored 2:11 into overtime to beat the Danbury Whalers, 4-3.

Jason Hill had a great game for Dayton, netting two goals. Hill's tallies came at 2:35 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Dayton and on the power play 5:51 into the third to make the score 3-2 Dayton.

The Demonz pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Dayton relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Hill, Ahmed Mahfouz and Felten took 30 of the team's 53 shots.

Dayton also got points from Mahfouz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Dayton came via Luke Flicek and James Sanford, who contributed two apiece.

Danbury relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Mike Atkinson, Alec Kirschner and Philip Aucoin took 22 of the team's 42 shots.

Danbury also got a goal from Richard Vanderhoek as well. In addition, Danbury received assists from Cody Ayers and Lynn Beedle, who each chipped in one.

Jeff Rose rejected 39 shots on goal for the Demonz. The Whalers' Nick Niedert stopped 49 shots out of the 53 that he faced.

1000 Islands Hangs On, Beats New York 4-2 The 1000 Islands Privateers beat the New York Bluefins, 4-2, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Corey Belisle provided 1000 Islands with the game's first tally when he scored 2:04 into the first period. James Kirkwood picked up the assist. The Privateers took a 2-0 lead as Kevin Morrison hit the back of the net at 4:56.

Adam McAllister was all over the ice for the Privateers, as he finished with two goals in the win. McAllister scored at 9:45 into the first period to make the score 3-1 1000 Islands and again while 18:53 into the second to make the score 4-2 1000 Islands.

1000 Islands also got points from Kevin Morrison, who in addition of his goal had an assist and Belisle, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for 1000 Islands came via Peter Campbell, AJ Tesoriero, and Jeff Dill, who contributed one a piece.

New York was led by Alex Redmond, who grabbed two goals. Redmond scored the first of his two goals at 5:48 into the first period to make the score 2-1 1000 Islands. Carson Devine assisted on the tally. Redmond's next tally made the score 3-2 1000 Islands with 2:24 left in the first period. Tom Tilla picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for New York were Robin Mendelsohn, who had one.

Peter Dundovich made 38 saves for the Privateers on 40 shots. Kevin Moore recorded 44 saves for the Bluefins.
