Ice Brothers Commit to College

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that forwards Bo and Canon Pieper have committed to playing college hockey at Quinnipiac University starting in the fall of 2014. The Quinnipiac Bobcats are an NCAA Division I member of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).

The Piepers will be joining teammate Joe Fiala (11-13) at Quinnipiac, becoming the fourth and fifth players and second pair of brothers from the Ice to play at the school. Former Icemen Loren (08-09) and Alex (10-12) Barron both committed to the university after playing in the USHL.

The two brothers have played in nearly every game for the Ice this year with Canon accumulating 13 points (5G, 8A) in 37 games, while Bo has registered ten points (2G, 8A) in 36 contests. The Roseville, MN natives are skating in their second USHL season after spending their rookie year with the Chicago Steel.

The Ice begin a five-game road trip with a three-game clip this weekend against Team USA on Thursday and Friday before wrapping up the week against the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday.

Hockey returns to Indianapolis on Friday, February 1 for back-to-back contests with the league-leading Dubuque Fighting Saints. Saturday's (2/2) contest from Bankers Life Fieldhouse is "Hockey for Heart" Night, presented by St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana.

Single-game tickets start at $11 for Bankers Life Fieldhouse games and General Admission tickets for Pan Am Plaza games are $10. There is a $2 discount for children 10 and under and seniors 62 and over.
