Austin Ice Bats News Release
The Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League today announced the hiring of Eve DeForest as the team's new Director of Ticket Sales. A Buffalo, New York native, DeForest joins the Ice Bats after nearly three years with the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres, where she was the top Account Executive in season and group ticket sales. DeForest will manage the Ice Bats ticket staff, with special emphasis on season and group sales.
"We're tremendously excited to have Eve heading up our ticket sales efforts," said Charles Newman, Ice Bats General Manager. "She brings a level of professionalism and experience we haven't had in the past. We're extremely positive about our prospects going forward." "I am very excited to be here in Austin, helping to continue the strong tradition of Ice Bats hockey in the area," DeForest said. "I am looking forward to getting involved with the Central Texas community, and to promoting the growth of our great sport from the youth level on up."
The only WPHL team to pass the 1-million mark in lifetime attendance, the Bats won the league attendance title four times in five seasons, averaging 5,350 fans per home contest last year. Again, the Bats ranked among the CHL leaders in attendance this season, finishing second with nearly 5,000 fans per home game.
After splitting the first two games of the best-of-seven President's Cup Finals, the Bats will play Games Three, Four and Five in Memphis this Thursday, Friday and Sunday. All three games will be broadcast live on "The Juice," 1370 AM.
If necessary, Games Six and Seven would be played at the Travis County Expo Center on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday May 4th. Tickets for the Championship Series are on sale at all Star Ticket locations, including the Ice Bats box office and Austin-area Albertson's stores. Fans may place charge orders at 927-PUCK or on-line at www.startickets.com. Discounted rates apply to groups of 15 or more.
