
IBL's Olympia Reign Ready for 2011 Season

Olympia Reign News Release
Steve Smothers is returning for his second year as Head Coach of the Olympia Reign. In his first year he led the Reign to a 17-6 record. Coach Steve Smothers has coached on the Pro-am circuit for several years and is known as a 'players coach' with not only a tremendous passion for coaching, but mentoring young men. The Olympia Reign will be heading into their second season and will play eleven home games. Home games will be played at Evergreen State College with games against various IBL teams including the defending IBL Champions Albany Legends, Bellingham Slam and Kankakee (Illinois) Soldiers.
Olympia Reign 2011 roster so far:
Point guard Nate Menefee, played college basketball at Evergreen State College where he was a 3 time NAIA All American, in his rookie season in the IBL (2010), Nate led the IBL in scoring with 28.6 pts per game. Nate is currently playing overseas in Portugal.
Nick Moore (6' 7'') Evergreen State College (2010 IBL All Star)
Mike Ward (6' 4) Evergreen State College, (2010 IBL All Star)
Gio Woods (6' 3") Central Washington University, Currently playing overseas in Spain
Virgil Matthews (6' 2") Montana University, currently playing overseas in Germany (2010 IBL All Star)
Framecio Little (6' 6") Washington State University
Also, returning to the team is Marcus Whittaker, (6' 4") G-F Evergreen State College and returning from injury Bill Richardson (6' 8") F, Saint Martin's University.
The Olympia Reign team will tip off the 2011 season on Saturday April 23rd at the Bellingham Slam. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion in Bellingham, Washington.
