Olympia, Wash.: The Olympia Reign are getting ready to be the kings of their new court with the announcement that the team will be going inside the Skookum Creek Event Center at the Little Creek Casino and Resort for its home games during the 2012 International Basketball League season.
The Reign, competing in their fifth IBL season, will be making a run for the league championship led by their owner, Mark Felton, who is excited about the expanded partnership with the Little Creek Casino and Resort. "I am so thankful that Little Creek Casino and Resort, Kamilche Trading Post, and The Landing have stepped up and provided not only the sponsorship but a top of the line venue to feature the Olympia Reign games," commented Felton. "Without their support, none of this would be able to happen."
"The Little Creek Casino and Resort has set themselves apart from all other casinos with the amenities they have to offer, and now they have added IBL Basketball to their menu. This year is going to be special and I cannot give enough thanks for the relationship I have with the people who are making all this happen," stated the elated Reign owner.
"We welcome the Reign to their new home and believe this adds tremendous value to our entertainment offerings, a professional basketball team right here at the Little Creek Casino and Resort! Our sponsorship has grown into a true partnership with Mark, and we look forward to the inaugural season at the Skookum Creek Event Center with many more to come," stated Martin Myers, Director of Marketing. The Casino and Event Center are preparing for the new basketball floor and equipment to arrive shortly.
IBL commissioner Sharleen Graf is also looking forward to the Reign's new home. "Not only will fans enjoy fast paced professional basketball, but this is an all-in-one entertainment facility including a golf course. It is a first for the IBL," stated Graf. On the court, the Reign will follow the game plan of head coach Steve Smothers with many familiar faces, including IBL all-star guards Mike Ward and Nate Menefee, and forward Bill Richardson who is currently on tour with the Harlem Globetrotters as a player for the opposing Washington Generals. "Coach Smothers will be bringing an exciting brand of basketball to the court. He will be coaching a fast-paced game and we will have the players to successfully achieve our goals. We will provide a fun family atmosphere for all to enjoy," shared Felton about his coach and game experience.
