July 7, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Vermont Frost Heaves News Release

South Burlington, VT. Antoine Hyman, the unselfish center who helped propel the Vermont Frost Heaves to an ABA championship in the team's debut season, will serve as director of the Frost Heaves' Have-A-Ball Kids Camps in Montpelier and Waterbury this summer.

The Montpelier camp is set to take place July 30 and August 3, while the Waterbury camp will be staged from August 6 through August 10. Those interested in registering should contact the appropriate department in Montpelier (223 5141) or Waterbury (244-7174).

Hyman, 31, is a native of Buffalo and 1997 graduate of Keuka College in New York State, where he blocked 4.3 shots per game to set the all-time NCAA Division III record. During a lengthy professional career, he played in France, Finland, Latvia, Japan and Germany, as well as in stateside pro leagues. He joined the Frost Heaves in February for the stretch run that resulted in an ABA title, contributing rebounding, blocked shots and timely scoring.

"Antoine is wise and charismatic and has a wonderful touch with people of all ages, and especially kids, "said team president and G.M. Alexander Wolff. "We can't think of a better director for our two remaining Have-A-Ball Kids Camps in Central Vermont. Boys and girls who won't be able to attend our Barre City camp in early July because its fully subscribed have two terrific options nearby."

Staged in conjunction with local recreation departments and featuring Frost Heaves players and coaches, the week-long, half-day Have-A-Kids Camps offer boys and girls in grades 1 through 8 plenty of fun with their fundamentals. Every camper receives a T-shirt, a ticket voucher for a Frost Heaves game, and literally "has a ball" - an official red, white and blue ABA basketball.

The Frost Heaves' Have-A-Ball Kids Camps are sponsored by two affiliated South Barre businesses: Ad Art America ("We've got you covered") and The Vermont Flannel Company ("Dedicated to world comfort").
