
Huntsville's Mark Sibbald Named SBK Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC (January 24, 2011) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Mark Sibbald of the Huntsville Havoc is the SBK Player of the Week for January 17-23.
Sibbald went 2-0 on the road with a 0.50 goals against average and a save percentage of .983 as Huntsville moved to within two points of second place in the standings.
On Friday, the Ridgeway, Ontario native recorded his first shutout of the season, turning away all 34 Pensacola shots as Huntsville edged the Ice Flyers 1-0. Sibbald turned in another strong performance on Saturday, stopping 24 of 25 shots as the Havoc defeated Knoxville 3-1.
Sibbald went 15-4-3 with Huntsville last year, posting a 2.82 goals against average, a .910 save percentage and winning 11 of his first 12 games. He also spent time with the Mississippi RiverKings and Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League, going 5-4-1 with Mississippi in 11 games with a 3.18 goals against average and an .882 save percentage.
