Huntsville's Justin Fox Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (January 14, 2014) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Justin Fox of the Huntsville Havoc is the Easton Player of the Week for January 6-12.

Fox scored three goals, including both game-winners, and added three assists as the Havoc swept a pair of games and moved to within four points of first place. For the weekend, Fox scored or assisted on six of the team's seven goals.

On Friday, the Whitby, Ontario native scored twice on the power play, including the game-winner early in the third period, as Huntsville doubled up the Mississippi RiverKings, 4-2. Fox came back on Saturday with his second three-point game of the weekend, scoring once and assisting on two first-period goals as the Havoc defeated Columbus 3-2.

With the six-point weekend, Fox took over the league scoring lead with 40 points in just 28 games. Fox is also tied for the league-lead with 24 assists, while he ranks second in power-play goals (seven) and is tied for third with 16 goals.

Before turning pro, Fox played two years for the State University of New York (SUNY) - Oswego, where he averaged nearly a point-and-a-half per game. Prior to that, Fox spent two years at Salem State College where he led the team in scoring both seasons, recording 74 points in only 49 games.
