October 16, 2003 - NBA G League (G League)
Huntsville Flight News Release

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., October 16, 2003 – Former University of Alabama basketball star Rod Grizzard has been named as one of two allocated players to the Huntsville Flight for the 2003-2004 training camp. Grizzard, a 6-foot-8, 200 pound guard, and Troy State's Lovell Craig, a 6-foot-9, 220 pound center from Selma, will join the Flight when training camp opens November 8.

"This is another opportunity to work on my game and try to get back to the NBA," Grizzard said. "We played against Huntsville last year, and I look forward to playing in Coach Lewis' (triangle) offense."

Last season Grizzard was allocated to the Mobile Revelers, helping the Revelers to the 2003 NBDL Championship. At Alabama, Grizzard finished as the 13th leading scorer in Tide history with 1,487 points (14.9 pg) in 100 games. An early entry to the 2002 NBA Draft, Grizzard was the Washington Wizards' 2nd round pick (39th overall), and was most recently in camp with the Detroit Pistons in 2003.

During his senior year at Troy State, Craig averaged over 13 minutes per game including 1.6 block shots.

The team will increase its training camp numbers to 17 when the NBDL holds its draft on November 6.
