Huntsville Channel Cats Name General Manager

Huntsville Channel Cats News Release


Huntsville, Alabama – John Cherney, owner of the Huntsville Channel Cats, Monday named Kevin Walker, General Manager of the team. "We are thrilled to have someone of Kevin's diverse background, leadership, and experience to take the Channel Cats into an exciting action-packed season." Walker most recently held the position of Senior Manager, Business Operations for the Huntsville Flight. Originally from Brea, California, Walker holds a BS in Sociology and an MBA from UCLA. Walker was also captain of the UCLA men's basketball team and played under current Alabama Head Coach Mark Gottfried. He has also lived extensively in Asia and South America as an international professional athlete.

Joining Walker is Angela Pounders who will serve as Director of Sales and Marketing. For 11 years Pounders served as Director of Sales for the Hilton Huntsville. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Pounders is a Chamber of Commerce Leadership graduate and is currently serving her second term on the board for the Association of the US Army, Redstone Chapter. Pounders will be responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing including sponsorships.

The Huntsville Channel Cats are part of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. The Cats offices are located inside the Von Braun Center. Season tickets will be available beginning on Monday, July 21. Reserve your tickets by calling 256-518-6161.
