
Huntsville Acquires Greg Stempin

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (November 30, 2002) â The Huntsville Flight has acquired forward Greg Stempin, it was announced today by National Basketball Development League Executive Director Karl Hicks and Flight Head Coach Ralph Lewis. Huntsville also waived forward Jefferson de Souza Sobral.
At 6-foot-8 and 220-pounds, Stempin played professionally for the NBDL's Fayetteville Patriots last season and tallied 15.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Stempin, who finished his career at Toledo during the 2000-01 season, saw action in 48 games for the Patriots and started 47 times last season.
Sobral averaged 0.6 points and 1.8 rebounds a contest in five games for the Flight.
Stempin is slated to suit up for the Flight tonight when the Huntsville Flight takes on the Columbus Riverdragons in a 7:30 pm contest at the Von Braun Center. Stempin will be assigned number 33.
