Hudson Valley Bears Announce First Player Signings

The new Hudson Valley Bears of the Eastern Professional Hockey League have announced their first player signings as they continue to prepare for the start of the 2008-09 EPHL season.

East Haven, Connecticut forward Phil Esposito has agreed to join the Bears organization. A veteran of the ECHL, SHL, UHL, and NEHL, including stops in Johnstown, Mobile, New Haven, and Danbury, has been a physical presence on the ice and a fan favorite everywhere he has played.

In addition, the Hudson Valley Bears have also announced the addition of the following players to their training camp roster:

Jim Pellagrino, goaltender, Port Chester, New York

Kevin Dardzinski, defenseman, Congers, New York

C.J. Schneider, defenseman, Oaklyn, New Jersey

Chris Crutcher, defenseman, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Dwight Edlund, forward, Nyack, New York

Chris Varmon, forward, Valley Cottage, New York

Tony Trocchia, forward, Brick, New Jersey

Michael Dardzinski, forward, New City, New York

Michael Uvodich, forward, Overland Park, Kansas

Devin Guy, forward, Highland Falls, New York

John Loftus, forward, Parsippany, New Jersey

The Hudson Valley Bears begin their inaugural 2008-2009 season on November 1st at Danbury, Connecticut. The Bears complete 08/09 schedule is expected to be announced in the next few days along with the announcement of the team's head coach.
