
Houston Rockets Assign Tim Ohlbrecht to NBA D-League Affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers

NEW YORK, April 9, 2013 - The Houston Rockets today assigned rookie Tim Ohlbrecht to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Houston's NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the record 176th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons, while Ohlbrecht becomes the record 58th NBA player to be assigned to the NBA D-League this season.
A member of the German National team, Ohlbrecht (6-11, 255, Germany) has played in three games for the Rockets, scoring three points in 12 minutes. He returns to the Vipers having appeared in 32 games, 29 starts, for the team, averaging 13.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks prior to earning a GATORADE Call-Up to the Rockets on Feb. 25, 2013.
A 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, Ohlbrecht scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor to go with a game-high 12 rebounds for the Prospects team in a 139-125 win over the Futures squad. At the time of his signing, Ohlbrecht led the NBA D-League in field goal percentage (.605, 164-of-271).
Ohlbrecht is expected to rejoin the Vipers today and be available when the team travels to face the Maine Red Claws in the first round of the 2013 NBA D-League Playoffs on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. ET.
