HOUSTON - The Houston Comets announced today that the team has waived guard Tamecka Dixon.
DIxon (5-9, Kansas '97) averaged 7.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30 games last season with the Comets. She ranked 16th in the WNBA in assists (2.3) and 14th in assists per 40 minutes (4.54) in 2006.
A three-time All-Star, Dixon holds career averages of 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in her 10 seasons in the WNBA. She is among the Top-20 leaders in assists (823), and the Top 10 in both games (286) and minutes played (7,906) in WNBA history. Dixon was selected by Los Angeles in the second round (14th overall) of the 1997 WNBA Draft.
