
Houston Comets Re-Sign Tamecka Dixon

Houston - Houston Comets Head Coach & General Manager Karleen Thompson today announced that the team has re-signed All-Star Tamecka Dixon to a multi-year contract. Per team policy, details of the contract were not disclosed.
Early in the 2007 free agency period, Dixon was released from her contract with the Comets but re-signed with the team on July 2, 2007. She went on to contribute an average of 12.0 points and 3.2 rebounds and assists over the last 18 games of the 2007 season.
Dixon, a 5-foot-9 guard with an 11-year history in the WNBA, first signed with the Houston Comets on February 28, 2006. On April 28, 1997, Dixon was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round (14th overall) of the WNBA Draft.
With career averages of 10.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists, Dixon has proven herself to the team and the fans with three WNBA All-Star appearances. She was selected as a reserve player in 2001, 2002 and became a starter in 2003 when she was selected to replace an injured Cynthia Cooper.
