
Houston Aeros Assign Baldwin to Orlando, Sign Ginand to PTO

Houston, TX - Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Thursday the team has assigned defenseman Corbin Baldwin to the Orlando Solar Bears, the Aeros ECHL affiliate. In a separate transaction, the team signed forward Ryan Ginand to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO).
Corbin Baldwin has played in four games for the Aeros this season. He made his AHL debut on Nov. 2 in Oklahoma City and recorded his first AHL point with an assist against Toronto at home on Nov. 8. In 10 games with Orlando this season, the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder recorded two assists and 12 penalty minutes. The undrafted blueliner played for Spokane in the WHL from 2008-12. In 210 games with the Chiefs, he scored 11 goals and set up 55 others for 66 points. He also racked up 379 penalty minutes and a +59 over four seasons.
Ginand was scoreless in his Aeros debut in Rockford on Nov. 16, his only appearance with Houston this season. The 26-year old is fourth among active Orlando skaters with 14 points in 18 games played. The Milford, MA native has 11 assists and three goals. In 2010-11, Ginand played in eight AHL games for the Albany Devils, scoring two goals and setting up six others for eight points. In 122 career ECHL games, GInand has scored 46 goals and added 70 assists for 116 points. Ginand played in Italy last season, scoring 27 goals and totaling 51 points in 44 games with Vipiteno.
Houston continues a three-game home stand with Oklahoma City on Thursday and Friday versus Oklahoma City at 7:05 p.m. at Toyota Center. The Aeros will host Girl Scout Night on Friday and celebrate the final day of Movember. The team will also host a Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive. Every fan that brings a jar of peanut butter or jelly, will receive two free tickets to a select future Aeros home game. The Girl Scouts are running the donation program to benefit the homeless.
