October 12, 2011 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
Charlotte Hounds News Release
The Charlotte Hounds War Room was buzzing this morning as the noon deadline neared for MLL teams to submit their 10- or 12-man protected rosters. After weeks of in-depth discussions and negotiations, Head Coach Mike Cerino and Team President Jim McPhilliamy executed a trade this morning with the Hamilton Nationals to make Ryan Flanagan the first player in Charlotte Hounds history.
Charlotte traded their 4th Round Expansion Draft Pick and 6th Round Supplemental Draft Pick for the 6'6" / 220 lb Defenseman. The former UNC Tarheel was selected 7th overall in the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft by Hamilton.
