Charlotte Hounds News Release

Major League Lacrosse today announced the 23-Man Protected Rosters for 2014, provided by the coaches and general managers of each team. All players left unprotected will be entered in the player pool for the 2014 season. MLL teams will have the opportunity to expand to a 40-man training camp roster during the 2014 Supplemental Draft, which will be held on Wednesday, December 4. The Charlotte Hounds prior to finalizing their offseason roster completed two trades. The first deal sent the Hounds' fifth-round pick (39th overall) in the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft to the Ohio Machine in exchange for attack Joe Cummings. The team then traded midfielder Peet Poillon to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in exchange for the ninth overall pick in the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft. The draft is scheduled for Friday, January 10 at the Philadelphia Marriott during the annual U.S. Lacrosse convention. Below is the complete list of the Hounds' 23 protected players. The Hounds in 2013 -- only their second season in the league -- fell just short of an MLL title with a 10-9 loss to the Bayhawks in the championship game . The Hounds posted a 7-7 regular-season record to secure the fourth and final playoff spot, then beat the previously undefeated Denver Outlaws by a score of 17-14 to advance to the title game. The 2014 season gets underway in April, with the official MLL schedule to be released in the coming weeks.
