Kentucky Horsemen News Release
Lexington, KY â Lexington Sports Ventures, LLC announces that the Lexington Horsemen and Head Coach and General Manager Tony Franklin have been unable to agree to contract terms for the 2004 season. Franklin will remain under contract with the team through October 31, 2003, when the existing contract expires.
The Horsemen just completed their inaugural season in the NIFL, compiling a record of nine wins and six losses, losing to the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in the first round of the playoffs. Franklin, a native of western Kentucky, came to the Horsemen after a successful run as offensive coordinator for the University of Kentucky.
Horsemen officials have begun an immediate search for a new head coach.
