
Horsemen mascot to make debut Saturday

Lexington, KY, December 5, 2002 â The Lexington Horsemen's new mascot, Spike, will make his first public appearance on Saturday, December 7, as he rides in his horse-drawn "chariot" in Lexington's annual downtown Christmas parade. Spike and other representatives of the Horsemen will ride and walk the parade route, handing out candy and Horsemen schedule cards to the crowd.
The Lexington Christmas parade, which is the state's largest holiday parade, begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Main Street and Midland Avenue. The parade, which will feature Santa Claus and a host of other celebrants, will proceed down Main Street to Broadway in downtown Lexington. Admission is free.
The Horsemen will also be holding their first open tryout on December 14 at Sports Blast in Lexington. All interested players must be at least 19 years old and should pre-register by coming to the Lexington Horsemen offices located in the Lexington Civic Center at 410 W.
