
Horsemen host 2005 home opener Saturday

The Lexington Horsemen will host their 2005 home opener Saturday when they play the Ohio Valley Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. in Rupp Arena. The game will be broadcast live on Supertalk 96.1 FM with Randy Wilson and Bill Ransdell. The first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive team posters and also the first 500 fans will get schedule magnets.
The Horsemen (1-0) will ring in the new season with a celebration of their 2004 national championship. The evening will be highlighted by the raising of the national championship banner prior to kickoff. A national championship ring also will be given to one lucky fan in attendance.
Lexington is coming off a 49-37 win over the Tupelo Fireants last Saturday in Tupelo , Miss. Quarterback Dusty Bonner threw for five touchdowns and Randy Bell ran for two in the victory. Bonner completed 21-of-33 passes for 180 yards in the game.
