Horsemen Hit the Road for Rematch with Greyhounds

LEXINGTON , Ky. —The Lexington Horsemen travel to Wheeling , W.Va. ,for their third and final meeting with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds this season. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday in WesBanco Arena and the game will be carried live on Supertalk 96.1 FM with Randy Wilson calling the play-by-play.

The Horsemen (4-2) and Greyhounds (2-4) are meeting for the second consecutive week as Lexington defeated Ohio Valley 56-53 Saturday in Rupp Arena. Three different Horsemen— Randy Bell , Harry Lewis and Chad Spencer —each scored two touchdowns in the victory. Running back Derek Homer rushed for a team-high 51 yards in the game, making him only the second Lexington player to eclipse the 200-yard rushing mark (205) this season. Lewis accumulated a season-high 90 yards receiving.

"We played really sharp last week," Horsemen head coach Bob Sphire said. " Ohio Valley is always a very good offensive team, and we did a lot of good things against them."

Three of Lexington 's six games this season have been decided by five points or less, including both match-ups with Ohio Valley . In Saturday's game, Lexington watched its lead dwindle to as few as three points, 56-53, with seconds remaining in the game after the Horsemen led by as many as 17, 56-39, with 3:24 left. The Horsemen recovered an on-side kick with 15 seconds left

to seal the victory.

Rookie running back Randy Bell is leading the team with 10 total touchdowns this season, including a team-high nine rushing scores. He has rushed for a team-high 277 yards on the ground this year and has caught 12 passes for 102 yards (8.5 avg.) receiving.

The Greyhounds have lost three of their last four games this season and are on a three-game losing streak to the Horsemen, including a 2004 playoff game in Wheeling . Ohio Valley still leads the all-time series 5-3 after winning the first five meetings between the two squads.

Following Friday's contest, the Horsemen return home to face the Tupelo Fireants on Sunday, May 15 in Rupp Arena with kickoff slated for 4 p.m. Single-game tickets for the remaining six games of the 2005 season, are still available for purchase.
