July 10, 2003 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Kentucky Horsemen News Release
The Lexington Horsemen (9-5) will face the defending NIFL Champion Ohio Valley Greyhounds (14-0) in the first round of the NIFL playoffs tomorrow night in Wheeling, WV. It will be the teams' third meeting of the season, with Ohio Valley having won the first two matchups 56-53 (in Lexington) and 70-27 (in Wheeling). The Horsemen will be facing what is undeniably one of the top teams in the league, as the Greyhounds are on an 18-game winning streak dating back to last year. The âHounds also lead the NIFL in scoring defense, total defense, pass defense, sacks and field goals.
The winner of the Lexington-Ohio Valley game will face the winner of the Lake Charles-Houma game in the Atlantic Conference championships next week. A Lexington win means that it will play the championship game either at home against Lake Charles, or on the road against Houma.
