Hornets Return to Knights Stadium

FORT MILL, S.C. - June 3, 2009 - For one night only, the Charlotte Hornets name and logo will be making an appearance at Knights stadium. But it's not the Hornets you're thinking of. This weekend the Charlotte Knights will be offering plenty of great entertainment and free giveaways to fans coming out to the ballpark.

- Friday, June 5, the first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a free a youth t-shirt courtesy of Carolinas Medical Center, Levine Children's Hospital and Time Warner Cable. Game time is 7:15 p.m.

- Saturday, June 6, is Retro Cap Night as the first 3,000 fans will receive a Charlotte Hornets cap courtesy of Talley Properties. Charlotte's first baseball team was known as the Hornets from 1901-73. Game time is 7:15 p.m.

- Sunday, June 7, the Knights will hold a free baseball clinic on the field prior their game vs. the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. This clinic is open for anyone between 5 and 15 years old. Knights Manager Chris Chambliss, his coaching staff, and several Knights players will run the clinic. Anyone wishing to attend the clinic should arrive at Knights Stadium prior to 11:00 am, as the clinic will begin promptly at 11:30. The clinic will run from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with an autograph session at the conclusion of the clinic. Game time is 2:15 p.m.
