
Horn, Taylor, Wagner Earn Honors

Arizona Rattlers OS CHRIS HORN, Chicago Rush DS MARVIN TAYLOR, and San Jose SaberCats WR/DB BARRY WAGNER have been named the Arena Football League's Offensive Player, 'ADT' Defensive Player, and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for their performances during the Quarterfinal Round of the 2002 postseason.
Horn (5-9, 170, Rocky Mountain), a second-year AFL standout, led the Rattlers (12-3) by hauling in 12 receptions for 169 yards and five touchdowns in their 61-59 victory over the Carolina Cobras. Horn's final touchdown, a 32-yard scoring toss from the arm of SHERDRICK BONNER, came as the final horn sounded and allowed the Rattlers to advance into the semifinals. The former member of the Battling Bears also added 27 return yards on his way to earning MVP honors in the victory. This marks the second time this season that he has received a league weekly honor. For the 2002 regular season, Horn led the league in scoring (218), while leading the Rattlers in receptions (104), receiving yards (1,324), and receiving touchdowns (29).
Taylor (6-1, 185, Florida A&M), who is in his rookie season, earned the weekly award by recording six solo tackles, four assists, three pass breakups, and an interception to help lift the Rush (10-5) to a 60-47 victory over the Dallas Desperados. The former Rattler tallied 26.0 total tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups during the regular season. This award marks the first time in his career that Taylor has garnered league-wide weekly recognition.
Wagner (6-3, 215, Alabama A&M), a 10-year AFL veteran, led the top-seeded SaberCats (14-1) by hauling in six receptions for 64 yards, and five touchdowns (two rushing and three receiving) in their 55-48 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm. On the defensive side, Wagner tallied four solo tackles, two assists, and recorded an interception - which sealed Ironman of the Game honors. The six-time Ironman of the Year finished the regular season with 75 receptions, 878 receiving yards, and 26 total touchdowns. This is the 37th time that Wagner has earned league-wide weekly honors in his career.
