Rochester Honkers Signees Nigel Ward and David Lemasters

(Rochester Minn.) - The Rochester Honkers have announced the signings of right-handed pitchers Nigel Ward and David Lemasters for the 2018 season.
Ward is 6-foot-2, 180-pound junior from the University of San Diego. He has currently made 2 appearances on the season, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out 3.
The Santa Ana native attended Santa Ana Community College before transferring to San Diego. He made 21 appearances with 15 starts, posting a 7-6 record. Ward finished the year with a 3.33 ERA and struck out 73 over 94 2/3 innings.
Ward attended Servite High School where he posted a 1.64 career ERA and a 9-3 record. As a junior he tossed a no-hitter.
Lemasters is currently a Redshirt Junior at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. He was the team's opening day starter versus Lincoln Memorial on February 18th, going 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out four. He got the no decision in the contest leaving the game in a 2-2 tie, as Lake Erie went on to lose 11-2.
Lemasters has appeared in 24 games in his career starting 15. Between his two seasons, Lemasters tossed 83 innings while striking out 85. During his sophomore year, he was a second-team all-conference selection.
Lemasters is a native of Cortland, Ohio and attended Lakeview High School. He holds the school's career strikeout record with 253 and three no-hitters. Lemasters was also a member of the golf team.
The Rochester Honkers 25th season begins on Tuesday, May 29th when the team hosts the Eau Claire Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. 5-Game Packs and Kids Club Memberships are available now!
