The Dragons are off to a 10-20 start in the 2013 campaign. Shortstop Zach Vincej has been the hottest Dragon over the past couple of weeks. He has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games.
The Dragons matched their season high in runs twice on their recent five-game road swing. The Dragons scored 11 runs in a win at Clinton on Wednesday night and then wrapped up the road trip with an 11-run outburst against Kane County Monday.
The Dragons have eight players on Baseball America's Top 30 Reds Prospects list. Baseball America rated starting pitcher Robert Stephenson as the top pitching prospect in the Reds farm system. He is ranked second in the organization behind former Dragon Billy Hamilton. Starting pitchers Ismael Guillon (#9), Pedro Diaz (#17) and Sal Romano (#30) are also ranked by Baseball America. Meanwhile, Baseball America touts outfielder Jesse Winker as the "best pure hitter" in the Reds system and the number seven prospect. Outfielder Jeff Gelalich ranks 14th in the system, third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean is rated as the Reds 19th best prospect, and third baseman Tanner Rahier is tabbed as the number 20 prospect in the Reds organization.
