LANCASTER, Calif. - The first half champion JetHawks return home for a packed homestand that will take the team from 4th of July weekend into Local Heroes Week. Join the JetHawks as they celebrate this great nation and then honor those who help to make it great. Lancaster will welcome Dodgers affiliate Rancho Cucamonga (Friday-Monday) and Angels affiliate Inland Empire (Tuesday-Thursday) for the homestand.
Special Events:
4th of July Fireworks: The JetHawks 4th of July contest against the Quakes is sold out and is shaping up to be the largest crowd of the season. Those in attendance will enjoy the best Independence Day fireworks show in the Antelope Valley! The JetHawks will wear special 4th of July uniforms to be auctioned off during the game.
Fireworks Encore/Patriotic Shirt Giveaway: For the first time in years the JetHawks will host an encore presentation of Friday's 4th of July fireworks. On top of the show, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a t-shirt featuring the JetHawks Stars & Stripes logo. The Saturday game begins at 6 p.m. and gates open at 5 p.m.
Family in the Park Sunday: Family in the Park Sundays continue for the 5 p.m. game. Fans are welcome to arrive early and play catch on the field. JetHawks players will sign autographs prior to the game and following the game, kids ages 12 and under can run the bases. It's also Super Hero Night at The Hangar. Prizes will be given for the best costumes.
Local Heroes Week:
AMR/Dept. of Corrections/Make A Difference Monday: Local Heroes Week kicks off as American Medical Response and the Department of Corrections take over the ballpark with great vehicle displays. The JetHawks are also teaming up with Antelope Valley Rescue Mission for Make A Difference Monday. Fans who donate toiletries, trash bags, coffee, water bottles and other items listed on AVRM's website will receive a free ticket to the game.
LA County Sheriffs/Two 4 Tuesday: The LA County Sheriffs Department will be in attendance with vehicles, displays and mascots throughout the ballpark. Fans can enjoy two-for-two deals on tickets at the box office and certain food items at the concession stands.
California Highway Patrol/Local Heroes Wednesday: California Highway Patrol will provide a flyover, a color guard and sing the national anthem along with having vehicles and displays in the ballpark. As always during the 2014 season, active military and veterans receive free admission for Wednesday games.
LA County Fire Dept./Throw 'Em Back Thursday: The fire department will be out in full force with their big red fire trucks for the whole family to enjoy. Fans can enjoy $2 beers, hot dogs, nachos and sodas at concession stands.
