Stockton Ports News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - Following a four-game series at Bakersfield, the reigning champions of the California League will return to Banner Island Ballpark for a seven game homestand. The Ports will host the Visalia Rawhide from April 28-30, with all games starting at 7:05 p.m., and the Bakersfield Blaze from May 1-4. The May 3 game will begin at 2:05 p.m., and the rest of the games during that series will begin at 7:05 p.m.
The Ports are excited to highlight several exciting upcoming events, promotions and giveaways for this first homestand.
Broadcasting:
On the Radio: Every Ports game can be heard on KSTN 1420 AM, the home of the Stockton Ports, this season. Zack Bayrouty, the Voice of the Ports, will be calling the play-by-play for his third season this year. Fans can also hear his radio broadcasts online at www.stocktonports.com as part of the free audio streaming feature.
On the Web: Fans can follow the live box score at www.stocktonports.com to keep track of the game or to listen to an audio stream of the radio broadcast. Fans can also find great team information such as the 2009 Stockton Ports Media Guide, game notes for each game, updated statistical and roster information, and much more! Be sure to read the A to Z Guide found on the web site prior to coming out to Banner Island Ballpark and to search the site for ticketing, promotion and community information.
By Telephone: Fans can now utilize the Teamline Direct feature, which allows them to dial into each game from a telephone or cell phone. To listen to each game with Teamline Direct costs $5 per game. Promotions and Special Events:
Ports Runway: The 2nd Annual Fashion Week at Banner Island Ballpark will again be a highlight on the Ports promotional calendar for the 2009 season. Fashion Week will launch on Wednesday, April 29 with Jorts with the Ports. Fans are encouraged to wear jorts (long jean pants that have been cut into shorts) to the game, and to enjoy feeling the warm Delta air circulate around their legs. There will be a fashion show highlighting the variety of jorts as well during the game.
Fashion Week will continue with Prom Gone Wrong on April 30. Fans can dress up in their "best" worst Prom outfits for the evening and have fun with prom-themed music and in-game entertainment. Fans will be able to have their Prom Gone Wrong photo taken by the main gate as well.
On Friday, May 1, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Ports Beanie Hat, courtesy of Lucas Business Systems. No Pants Day, which was originally scheduled for May 1st on the Ports promotional calendar, will be moved to a later date which is still to be determined.
Canadian Tuxedo Night on May 2 will cap off Fashion Week at Banner Island Ballpark. Fans are encouraged to commit a JOJO (jean-on-jean offense) on Saturday Night's game. Denim decorations and 80s music will support the Canadian Tuxedo theme that night. May 2 will feature post-game fireworks sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel.
Pink with the Ports: On Sunday, May 3, Stockton will host the 3rd Annual Pink with the Ports Day, sponsored by St. Joseph's Medical Center, in which the Ports players will sport pink jerseys in an effort to help raise awareness for breast cancer. The pink jerseys will also be auctioned off during the game. The Ports will donate $1 for every ticket sold to benefit the St. Joseph's Foundation Breast Health Services. Also on May 3 the Ports will celebrate Mexican culture and heritage with an early Cinco de Mayo fiesta. The afternoon will include mariachi bands, folklorico dancers and much more.
Additionally, Sunday will feature several weekly promotions. Fans can pick up vouchers for $1 Home Run Hill Tickets from Metro PCS, good for all Sunday home games. Every Sunday is also Autograph Sunday, where fans have the opportunity to get select Ports players' autographs before the game. Fans can purchase an All-You-Can-Eat barbecue package that includes a ticket to the game on Sundays. Everyday Eddie's Kids Club members also get in free to all Sunday home games. Applications to join the Everyday Eddie's Kids Club, presented by Subway, and the Medcore HP Silver Sluggers club are available online at www.stocktonports.com and at the Ports front office.

Fans should note that individual game tickets for July 3 will be available for purchase on May 1.

The ticket office at the stadium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the season and on non-game days. During the season on Monday through Friday game days, the ticket office will be open from 9 a.m. until the end of the game. On weekend game days, the office will be open from 10 a.m. until the end of the game.
The Ports have improved their ticketing services for the 2009 season, increasing the available ticket packages and options online, and sending out a new direct mailer to reach out to all Ports fans. Now, fans can purchase more tickets online or by mail, in addition to purchasing them over the phone or at Banner Island Ballpark. New, expanded online options for the 2009 season include season ticket packages.
What's New with the Ports:
Ticket Donation Program: The Stockton Ports are excited to introduce a new community initiative, which will support the Anchor Fund, this season called the Ticket Donation Program. Season ticket holders and fans will have the opportunity to contribute to the Anchor Fund simply by donating their unused Ports tickets. The Ports organization will match all ticket donations made by season ticket holders and other fans. Tickets donated to this program will in turn be donated to foster agency related non-profit organizations in the San Joaquin Valley, allowing underprivileged youth to attend Ports games.
Ports to Support Goodwill Week: From Friday, May 1 to Friday, May 8, fans who donate clothing and electronics to one of the 10 Goodwill donation locations in San Joaquin County will receive a voucher for a discounted ticket to the Ports game on Saturday, May 9. On May 9, the Ports will be taking on the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at 7:05 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Ports cap, sponsored by the California Highway Patrol.
The voucher for the May 9 event can be redeemed no later than 5 p.m. on May 8, by calling Heather Brooke at (209) 644-1927. Vouchers will not be redeemed at the box office
