Home Game this Saturday

April 20, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Montgomery Bears News Release

The Montgomery Maulers will be back at home on Saturday, April 23rd after playing two games on the road. Baptist Health is sponsoring team poster night with the first 4,000 fans receiving a team poster. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to be in your seats by 7:25 p.m. for the spectacular pre-game show featuring the dance team, motorcycles and surprises!

VIP Box Entrance

For the added convenience of Season Ticket Holders who have floor passes to the VIP boxes, the back door of Garrett Coliseum (next to the large garage doors in the West endzone) can be used as an entry point into the building. All other Season Ticket Holders are asked to enter the arena through the North, South or East entrances as usual.

VIP Lounge

Applebee's will be providing the food in the VIP Lounge at Saturday's game. Some VIP Box Season Ticket Holders may not have been aware that the VIP Lounge is located in the East endzone. Although the team will again provide pizza on the arena floor, the pizza is a complement to the main food that Applebee's will be serving.

ATTENTION ALL FANS

Food and drinks provided on the arena floor and in the VIP Lounge are for the enjoyment of our VIP Box Season Ticket Holders. No food or drinks are allowed to leave the arena floor. Any fans on the arena floor who pass food or drinks to fans in the permanent seats will have their VIP Season Ticket revoked and will be immediately removed from the arena. Also, any fan caught passing their VIP floor pass to another patron will also be evicted and have their season ticket revoked. Your adherence to this policy is greatly appreciated.

VIP Season Tickets

We have had many fans ask about upgrading their season tickets to the VIP Boxes on the arena floor area. All VIP Box seats, though, are sold out for the 2005 season. If you are interested in moving to the floor for the 2006 season, please contact the Maulers at 277-1881 to be added to the waiting list. All current VIP season ticket holders will have the first right of renewal for next season.

Schedule Change

Due to the addition of the Dayton Warbirds to the league, many teams' schedules have changed including the Maulers to reduce traveling costs. The Maulers' home dates have not changed, just some of the opponents. Here is the revised schedule (home games in bold):

Saturday, April 23 - Fayetteville
Saturday, April 30 - Montgomery @ Fayetteville
Saturday, May 7 - Dayton
Saturday, May 14 - Rome
Sunday, May 22 - Beaumont
Saturday, June 4 - Lakeland
Saturday, June 11 - Montgomery @ Lakeland
Friday, June 17 - Montgomery @ Beaumont
Saturday, June 25 - Lubbock

Fan Club

Several Maulers fans have started a Fan Club, the Mauler Maniax, which is dedicated to the enhancement of the team. Members will receive an official Mauler Maniax t-shirt, a weekly newsletter, preferential tailgating, opportunities to write articles for the newsletter and exclusive voting for "Fan Club Player of Week."

The cost for membership is $10 per person or $25 for a family of four. Anyone interested in joining may contact the club's president Chris Yow at cyow@huntingdon.edu, by calling (205) 533-4864, or by logging onto the official website at www.maulermaniacs.tripod.com.

Coach's Radio Show

The Montgomery Maulers invite fans to join the players and staff every Thursday night during the season for "Dinner with the Maulers" at participating restaurants around town. Fans can join the team for dinner, drinks and talk football every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A live radio talk show featuring head coach James Shiver and the players will originate from the participating restaurant form 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The radio show will air on SportsRadio 740 (WMSP-AM).

All of the April dinners and radio shows will be held at the Eastside Grille at 6667 Atlanta Highway. Future locations for May and June will be announced soon.
