The home games continue this weekend for the Texas Tornado (32-9-3, 67 pts.), as they host the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (25-13-6, 56 pts.) from the North American Hockey League West Division on Friday, February 10th and Saturday, February 11th at 7:30pm. Tickets for both games are available by stopping by or calling the Texas Tornado Ticket Office at 972-335-9800, or fans can Purchase Tickets Online Now! Friday night is City of The Colony Business Expo Night. Various businesses from The Colony will be in attendance with tables and exhibits throughout the concourse of the Deja Blue Arena. Saturday night is Park Place Tornado Hat Night. The first 2,000 fans though the door will receive a FREE Texas Tornado Hat courtesy of Park Place Dealerships.
The Tornado and Ice Dogs have faced one another twice already this season. The Tornado won the Friday night opener on November 4th by a score of 5-1 as #28 Karl Sellan led the way with two goals, while goaltender #33 Troy Redmann made 32 saves. The next night on November 5th the Tornado would lose 4-1, as the Ice Dogs salvaged a split of the series. Sellan had the lone Tornado goal while Redmman stopped 25 of 28 Fairbanks shots. The Tornado comes into the weekend riding a five-game winning streak in which they have outscored their opponents 23-10. With 32 wins already this season, the Tornado need only 8 more wins to reach 40 or more wins for the 7th consecutive season.
Final Roster Announced for the Pros vs. Prospects II Tornado Charity Classic on February 15th
The Back-to-Back National Champion Texas Tornado is pleased to announce the final roster for the Pros vs. Prospects II Tornado Charity Classic II on Wednesday, February 15th at 7:30pm at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco, matching the two-time defending Junior A National Champion Texas Tornado in a game against a team of former NHL Stars. Headlining the group of former NHL stars participating in the event includes former Dallas Stars players: Brett Hull, Guy Carbonneau, Dave Gagner, Kirk Muller, Craig Ludwig, Shayne Corson, Brent Severyn, Benoit Hogue, Shawn Chambers, Greg Adams, Mike Lalor, Gerald Diduck and Bill Huard. It has also been announced that former Dallas Stars forward and 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Gold Medal winner Neal Broten will serve as the Head Coach for the Pros team. Other former NHL stars that will be participating include Bernie Nicholls, who scored over 1,200 points during his 18-year NHL career, primarily with the Los Angeles Kings. The goaltender for the Pros team is Bill Ranford, who backstopped the Edmonton Oilers to the Stanley Cup in 1989-90, where he was also named as the Conn Smythe Trophy winner for being the Most Valuable Player during the NHL playoffs that season. Rick Zombo formerly of the St. Louis Blues, will also be participating on the Pros team.

Tony Curtale Show this Wednesday, February 8th at 8:30pm at Hooters in Frisco
The next installment of the Tony Curtale Show will be this Wednesday, February 8th, at 8:30pm at Hooters in Frisco. Texas Tornado Head Coach and General Manager Tony Curtale will sit down with Texas Tornado Play-by-Play Voice Alex "Cheeks" Kyrias for the half hour show to discuss all matters relating to hockey and the Tornado. The show can be heard live online, or fans can watch the show live at Hooters in Frisco. Curtale will field a variety of questions including those from fans. There are three ways to ask questions: 1) Fans can email questions to: Ask the Coach. 2) Ask the coach in person at Hooters. 3) Send a Yahoo Instant Message during the broadcast to: tornado_media. This week's topics to be discussed include: the upcoming weekend games against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, the Pros vs. Prospects II Tornado Charity Classic, and the remainder of the Tornado regular season. Tornado Player Banners Now Being Auctioned Off on eBay
The Texas Tornado Booster Club is auctioning off via eBay, the players' banners that hang in the Deja Blue arena for each Tornado home game. The auction is now live and ongoing through February 15th. The banners will be sent to the winners after the last home game, including regular and playoff games, and will be autographed by the player whose banner is purchased. The banners were sewn by the Booster Club and the proceeds will be used to help support the Tornado players and to provide a scholarship to a Tornado player going to college. To search for the banners, enter the words "Tornado player banner" once logged onto eBay.
