Hoffman named associate head coach/defensive coordinator

ALBANY, NY - Albany Conquest head coach Pete Costanza today announced that Jeff Hoffman will be the af2 team's new associate head coach and defensive coordinator.
"We are pleased to have a coach with the expertise of Jeff Hoffman join our organization," Costanza said. "He has a bright football mind and is an excellent choice for us. I'm excited to be working with him again."
Hoffman joins the Conquest after spending the 2005 season as the special teams coordinator/wide receivers coach for the Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League. Prior to his stint in Columbus, Hoffman spent one season as the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at St. Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey.
A graduate of the University of Maryland where he was a defensive back and special teams player, Hoffman also worked for the New York Giants before joining St. Peter's College. With the Giants, he assisted the Pro Player Personnel Department, evaluating professional players in every league, including the National Football League.
From 1997 to 1999, Hoffman coached the Arena Football League's New Jersey Red Dogs, where he coached special teams, fullback/linebackers, the defensive line and wide receivers. He also oversaw player personnel, handling all player transactions.
Hoffman coached in both Columbus and New Jersey with Costanza, who was the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator in Columbus and wide receivers coach in New Jersey. His additional coaching stops include stints in the college ranks at Monclair State and New Jersey City University and at the high school level at Riddle High School and Bayley-Ellard High School in New Jersey.
Hoffman is married to wife Katie and has one child, daughter Kaitlin (11).
The Conquest opens its sixth season Friday, April 6, 2007 against the Mohoning Valley Thunder at 7 PM at U.S. Army Field at Times Union Center. Conquest full and partial season ticket packages for the 2007 season are on sale now by calling the Conquest ticket sales department at (518) 487-2244!
