Florida Seals News Release
Orlando, FL â Murray Bros. Caddy Shack in Festival Bay was the setting today for the beginning of a new era in Orlando Seals hockey. It was there that Seals General Manager Chris LiPuma and team owners David Waronker and Randall Couch unveiled the new trademark of the club.
"We were looking for a more competitive look for the Seals, and we have found it," said LiPuma following the conference, which was attended by representatives from all but one local news channel. "The support from the media and our fans has been tremendous today and we hope to continue that relationship through the upcoming season."
The new logo concept was designed by graphic artist and web designer Ken Rothman. "I was looking to get away from the atypical hockey logo of an animal holding a hockey stick," said Rothman about the artwork. "What made this project difficult was the lack of references I had to work off of in regards to logos for other teams with the same name. The development took a lot of work, including a multitude of research to make it look just right but, in this case, the end product is definitely worth all of the effort."
Murray Bros. Caddy Shack graciously hosted the event, providing wonderful meals and superb service to all who attended. The new setting was perfect for the unveiling, with its festive atmosphere and wonderful hospitality.
Members of the media unable to attend the event can request high resolution copies of the new logo by contacting Sheli Carr at the Seals office.
The Seals are currently accepting season ticket applications for the 2004-05 season. For more information call the Seals at (407) 447-PUCK (7825).
