
Hixon Joins 'Ants at Kicker

TUPELO, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts are pleased to announce the signing of kicker Duane Hixon to the 2004 lineup.
Hixon, a native of Carmel, Indiana, comes to the FireAnts after playing with the semi-pro Detroit Seminoles of the Mid Continental Football League in 2002. He attended Indiana University where he played lacrosse.
"I feel Duane will be a good kicker in this league," FireAnts Head Coach Bobby Hall said. "He was an All-Big Ten lacrosse player in college and is also a good all-around athlete."
With the signing of Hixon, the FireAnts have now signed 25 players to date, including: Joe Gunn, Pig Prather, Patrick Garth, Rico McDonald, Bobby Hill, Chris Rainey, Eric Bingham, Will Hall, Darryl Carter, Reggie Smith, David Mooneyham, Johnny Mickell, Carnell Houston, James Bridges, William Stewart, J.T. Brown, Ricky Franklin, Murry Rhodes, Kareem Vance, Antonio Peoples, Tyson Patterson, Chris Edwards, David Wray, and Bobby Ferguson.
