Chicago Hitmen News Release

Rolling Meadows, Illinois - The Chicago Hitmen have come one step closer to finalizing their final roster for the 2010-2011 North American Hockey League season. After months of scouting, the NAHL draft and then two tryout camps, Hitmen staff have sent out final camp invitations. Team Owner and President, Mark Hammersmith says about this process, "Months of identification and preparation have resulted in these final inviations being released. We identified players we chose to tender and then came our predaft camp on May 14th. We drafted 13 players on May 26th and since then have seen and liked, a lot of free agents. We are bringing all these young men together to compete for roster spots at our final camp."

On Friday July 30th through August 1st, West Meadows Ice Arena, in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, will play host to the 60 invited players plus 8 goaltenders who will come to Chicago to show their skills, trying impress Head Coach Steve Pronger and his staff. Players from all over North America, along with some quality local talent, are expected to be at camp, and hopefully making it difficult for Pronger to complete the final roster.

Players will be assigned to one of four scrimmage teams and play 3 games over the course of the weekend. Each team will start the camp with a practice on Friday night. The Hitmen will be selecting 25 players (15 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies) to start full team practices on Monday August 16th. The final roster of 23 players will be set on September 1st.
