Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the signing of three more players to it's training camp roster. Cornerback Corey Brewer and wide receivers Wesley Hill and Ken Horton will all battle for spots on the Storm's 30-man roster.
Brewer, who came to the Storm from Bemidji State, recorded 26 tackles as well as 2 interceptions in 2005 for the Beavers. Brewer started nine games in 2005 and started four games in 2004. The 5'9 185 lb. Brewer tallied 20 tackles and 4 interceptions in 2004. Before playing at Bemidji State, Brewer spent two seasons at Rainey River Community College in Minnesota.
Hill was a 2004 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference second-team wide receiver after catching 57 balls for 1,051 yards. He was also named Concordia-St. Paul (CSP) team MVP in 2004 while leading the team in touchdowns with 10. Hill scored another 8 touchdowns in 2003 while catching 40 passes for 713 yards.
Horton, who played for the Sioux City Bandits of the UIF last season, will begin his second season of indoor football. Horton had a tremendous 2005 season helping the Bandits reach the UIF United Bowl I. Ken hauled in 14 touchdowns on 63 receptions and was named Offensive Rookie Of-The-Year for the Bandits. In college, Horton played one season at Savannah State in Georgia before transferring to Tuskegee University in Alabama where he was a 3-year starter.
"There is a lot of competition right now in camp, but that competition helps build Championships. These three will all fight for a chance to play and push our veteran athletes," says General Manager, Colin Steen.
Player camp continues this week as the first game of the season approaches when the Storm visits the Beef in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, March 24. The home opener for the Storm will be Saturday, April 8 for a "Championship Re-Match" as the Sioux City Bandits enter the Sioux Falls Arena. Individual tickets are on sale now at any Ticketmaster outlet, online at ticketmaster.com or at the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office.
