March 22, 2019 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Moncton Magic News Release

Moncton loses the first game of their Ontario road trip in Sudbury. With 3:35 in the fourth quarter, down 20 points, the Magic made a run to cut the deficit to 4 points with 16 seconds left in regulation. Despite the late run, it came a few minutes overdue. After losing to the Sudbury Five at home on March 12th, the Magic fall once again to the Five, 127-120.

Moncton players were not themselves from three-point range last evening, shooting 32.4% on 37 attempts. However, a positive takeaway is that Billy White is in full playoff mode a few weeks early, finishing with 20 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Jason Calliste was a spark plug off the bench finishing with 17 points, 3 rebounds and knocked down 5 three-pointers. Marcus Lewis, considered one of the best on ball defenders in the league contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and a few rim rattling slams. While Denzell Taylor recorded a double-double performance of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

HE'S BACK. After missing the last three games due to a lower body injury, Trey Kell is back in the lineup and picked up right where he left off. The rookie went for 30 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and the Player of the Game honors in a limited 23 minutes of action. He also played assertively driving to the basket and went a perfect 9-9 from the charity stripe.

40 point performers for the Sudbury Five... first Jones Sr. and now Rayson. Braylon Rayson leads the NBL in scoring for a reason. Rayson dropped a game high 42 points, 5 rebounds and couldn't miss if he tried, shooting 15-20 from the field. The crafty Jones Sr. finished with 24 points and 7 assists. While Mamadou Gueye added 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Two games left for the Moncton Magic. Elevated playoff aspirations are in the Moncton air, although the Magic still have some regular season business to take care of with back to back games on the 23rdversus the KW Titans and the 24thversus the Windsor Express. Tune into NBLC Live and continue to cheer on your Moncton Magic as they look to return home and enter the postseason with some momentum on their side.
